- How do I open a youth account?
To open a youth account, visit your local Ascend branch. Youth accounts are the same as any conventional checking or savings accounts, except they’re opened under the minor’s name with a responsible party as a joint owner of the account.

- Will my certificate account ever lose its value?
No. Ascend certificate accounts are insured by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) for up to $250,000.
- How do I remove the joint account owner from having access to the account?
You will need to visit a branch to remove the joint owner from your account.
- Can I remove a joint account owner online or by calling 800-342-3086?
No. You will need to visit an Ascend branch. To find your nearest location visit ascend.org/locations.
- What if I currently live out of state or traveling and can’t visit an Ascend branch?
Please call 800-342-3086 and speak to a member service representative to discuss alternative options.
- Can the joint account owner receive their own login to access the account(s)?
Yes. Joint owners who do not have their own primary account with Ascend can obtain their own login credentials by calling 800-342-3086 or visiting an Ascend branch. To find your nearest location visit ascend.org/locations.
Joint owners who have their own primary account and are enrolled in our digital banking service will simply login using their account username and password, where any joint shares or loans will be displayed.
