Joining Ascend
There is a way for everyone to join Ascend.
To become eligible for membership, all you have to do is meet at least one of the requirements below and make a $5 deposit into a savings account. This is not a membership fee – you get it back if you ever decide to close your account.
Family
If someone in your immediate family – spouse, parents, grandparents, children, siblings, or grandchildren, including the same step and adoptive relationships – is an Ascend member, you’re eligible to join. Also, if anyone who lives in your household and can demonstrate a degree of permanency is a member of Ascend, you’re eligible to join.
Employer or Organization Partners
If your employer or organization is one of Ascend’s more than 1,200 local partners, you’re eligible to join. Applicants can review the list of partners when they open an account online or in-branch, or by calling 800-342-3086. If you represent a business or organization and are interested in partnering with Ascend, click below.
Underserved Areas
If you live, work, worship, or attend school in an area deemed financially underserved by the U.S. government, you’re eligible to join Ascend. All of Franklin County, as well as parts of Davidson, Dickson, Marshall, Maury, Putnam, Rutherford, Van Buren, Warren, and White counties, are considered underserved.
Please call 800-342-3086 to find out if you're eligible.
Join the Nature Conservancy
All members of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Tennessee are eligible to join Ascend. Become a member of TNC by making a one-time contribution of $25 on their website. You may also join TNC while you're opening an Ascend account.
