Accounts By Phone
Ascend offers two different ways to access your accounts by phone. Bank from any phone with our STAR system. Or bank from your mobile phone with our text/SMS service.
With STAR, you can perform many banking activities including:
Monitor your account
Check account balances
Hear past transactions
Transfer funds between accounts
Listen to loan information
Make credit card payments
To start using STAR, visit any Ascend financial center or call 800-342-3086 to receive a temporary personal identification number (PIN).
Once you have received your PIN, you can access STAR three different ways:
- Call 800-342-3086 and select the appropriate menu option when prompted.
- Call STAR directly at 800-342-8663.
The first time you access STAR, you'll be asked to change your PIN.
Once you have entered your account number and updated your PIN, you'll be presented with menu options for the Ascend products you use. An automated voice will guide you through the process.
With Text/SMS Banking, you can perform many banking activities including:
Monitor your account
Check account balances
View the last five transactions
Transfer funds between accounts
Set-up custom text alerts for your account activity
You can use SMS/text messaging to monitor your account. To register for SMS/text banking, log on to online banking and click “Additional Services” in the toolbar. In the drop down menu, click “Mobile Banking and Alerts.” Complete the requested fields, and click “Save changes.”
- Are there any fees related to using STAR to bank by phone?
No. There are no fees associated with STAR.
- Will I be charged by my phone carrier for using Text/SMS banking?
While Ascend will not charge you for text messages, standard carrier fees for text messaging may apply. Please check with your mobile phone carrier if you aren't sure what fees apply when you send and receive messages.
