- Who is eligible to sign up for GWP?
To sign up for GWP investment management, you must:
- Be a U.S. resident and U.S. citizen
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have at least five years to retirement and be no more than 68 years old (if selecting retirement as goal)
- Have at least $5,000 in investable assets
- Have a valid Social Security number or Tax Identification Number
- How quickly can I open a GWP account?
You’re eligible to open a GWP account immediately after receiving a personalized proposal.
- What are ETFs?
Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are passive investment securities that replicate the performance of an index representing a certain asset class. ETFs trade on an exchange and are bought and sold like stocks. ETFs usually have a lower expense ratio than actively managed mutual funds.
- How do I calculate my liquid net worth?
To calculate your liquid net worth, add up the value of all your assets (vehicles, property, retirement accounts, securities, cash on hand, etc.) as well as your liabilities, or debts you owe. Then, subtract the value of your liabilities from the value of your assets to find your liquid net worth.
- Are there other benefits to joining Ascend?

- How do I enroll in Voice Authentication?
The next time you call Ascend, a representative will offer enrollment to you. To enroll, you will give Ascend consent to record the rest of your call and register your voice, and then Voice Authentication will be used on future calls.
- Is Voice Authentication Secure?
Yes. Everyone’s voice is different, so Voice Authentication provides an additional level of security to your account.
- What if I no longer want to use Voice Authentication?
You can give us a call at any time and let us know you would like to opt out. A representative will then remove Voice Authentication from your account, and we will no longer utilize this method when confirming your identity when you call during business hours.
