Ascend Federal Credit Union President and CEO Named Woman of Influence

Ascend Federal Credit Union President and CEO Caren Gabriel has been selected as one of Nashville Business Journal’s 2016 Women of Influence in the Company Executive category.

Each year, the Nashville Business Journal (NBJ) recognizes women in the Nashville area who stand out in their fields, bring their business to the forefront, and help others achieve success. Award winners are selected in 10 categories: Community Supporter, Company Executive, Company Manager, Dynamic Duo, Entrepreneur, Family Business, Inspiration/Mentor, Nonprofit Leader, Public Policy, and Trailblazer.

“I am honored to receive this recognition,” Gabriel said. “I believe that I was selected because of all the incredible things Ascend achieved in 2015. As president and CEO, I attribute all of our success to our focus on giving back to the community.”

With $1.845 billion in assets and more than 157,000 members, Ascend is the largest credit union in Middle Tennessee and one of the largest federally chartered credit unions in the United States. The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) selected Ascend as the 2015 Federal Credit Union of the Year. Ascend is federally insured by the NCUA. Membership is limited.
