The Power of Direct Deposit

Direct deposit isn’t a new banking feature, but it’s one of the most important. By setting up direct deposit with your employer, you get faster access to your funds without having to manually deposit your paycheck. It helps you reduce the risk of missing payments or having an overdrawn account.

Overdraft Protection

Ascend offers overdraft protection services, which authorizes Ascend to process purchases when there are not enough funds in your account to cover the transaction. There is a $25 fee if your account is overdrawn.

Ways to Avoid Fees

We strive to have as few fees as possible for our members and offer easy ways to avoid them, such as opting into digital statements. There are easy ways to avoid the $5 monthly fee on our High-Yield and Rewards Checking accounts by doing any of the following:

- Receive at least $1,000 in direct deposits per month or
- Keep a combined average daily balance of $5,000 in the account or
- Make 10 qualifying debit card purchases of $5 or more per month.
