Ascend Donates $20,000 to American Red Cross Chapters Across Middle Tennessee

TULLAHOMA, Tenn., May 27, 2026 - Ascend Federal Credit Union, the largest credit union in Middle Tennessee, announced today a $20,000 donation to the American Red Cross, with funds evenly distributed between the Heart of Tennessee Chapter and the Nashville Area Chapter. The contributions supported the Heart of Tennessee Chapter’s annual Heroes Luncheon, held on March 12, as well as the Nashville Area Chapter’s Lifesaver Luncheon, held on April 14. 

The Heart of Tennessee’s 13th annual Heroes Luncheon honored individuals in the Middle Tennessee community who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others. In fiscal year 2025, the Heart of Tennessee Chapter assisted 188 families following local disasters, installed 318 free smoke alarms, collected 14,782 units of blood, taught 5,350 people lifesaving skills and provided 556 services to military members, veterans and families. 

The Nashville Area Chapter’s 25th annual Lifesaver Luncheon brought together the city’s dedicated philanthropists, leaders and changemakers to honor those who exemplify the Red Cross mission in action. The gathering recognized the courage, compassion and community impact of local heroes and partnerships critical to the American Red Cross’ mission to provide disaster relief, emergency preparedness and vital services across Tennessee.
