The Ascend Difference
Since 1951, when eight members came together to serve employees of Arnold Air Force Base, Ascend has been driven by a simple purpose — people helping people. That means neighbors supporting one another, expanding access to financial services, and building something rooted in trust and shared success.
Today, that same focus continues to guide how we serve our members across Middle Tennessee.
As a not-for-profit, member-owned credit union, Ascend focuses on creating value for the hard-working people we serve. That shows up in meaningful ways like better rates, lower fees, and programs designed to help members keep more of their money. It’s a model built around people, not profits, and one that continues to guide our decisions every day.
"Life happens, right? It was surely happening to me. I ended up in a financial trap with two high-interest credit cards with another institution. I consolidated them both into one with Ascend at a much better rate, saving me a lot of trouble and money!" – Sarah S.
Being a good local partner means being involved. Ascend proudly supports the communities we serve through partnerships, volunteer efforts, and investments that make a meaningful difference across Middle Tennessee. Because when our communities thrive, our members do too.

Life doesn't always fit within traditional banking hours — and access shouldn't be a barrier. That's why Ascend offers expanded teller services through our Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, giving members more flexibility to bank when it works for them. Combined with convenient branch locations and digital banking tools, the goal is simple: make managing finances easier.
“Simply put, we love the fast friendly services inside the office and outside as well. Staff are wonderful and available, answers questions well.”– Kathleen Q.
Financial well-being is about more than accounts — it’s about confidence, stability, and progress. That’s why Ascend provides tools, education, and personalized support to help members take control of their financial future.
"I lost both of my parents suddenly in May of 2023. At that time, we did not have any accounts at Ascend, but I had been there with my dad before their deaths. The team at the branch on East Main in Murfreesboro was incredibly helpful. As the executor of my parents’ estate, I could not have done what I needed to do without their help. We've since moved our accounts to Ascend and will forever be members."– John D.

Financial needs don’t always follow a schedule, and having the right support during major milestones or unexpected hardships can make all the difference. At Ascend, members can connect with a real person who genuinely cares — whether they visit a branch or pick up the phone. Through resources like our free financial health checkups, members can better understand their full financial picture and move forward with confidence.
"The Air Force brought my husband and I to Tullahoma in 1978 and we returned to retire in 1996. We’ve financed several vehicles at Ascend because they have the best rates. I just made the last payment on my present car. I turned 90 on December 31, and we just might finance one more vehicle." – Sande H.
We’re proud to be recognized locally and nationally for our service, culture, and leadership, including:
"I purchased a car from a dealership and was paying a higher interest rate. Ascend reached out to me and offered a drastically lower APR. They made the process so comfortable for me, and I was shocked by how smooth and quick it was. I couldn't be more grateful. I am a single mom, working over 40 hours a week to be able to support my child. Because of Ascend, I am less stressed and can now spend more of my time with my child. I feel blessed to be a member of Ascend Credit Union, and look forward to working with them in the years to come. Thank you so much!" – Charlene D.
